Managing Partner
He is a distinguished legal expert with over two decades of experience in corporate
insolvency, liquidation, commercial litigation, financial sector regulation, and public sector
governance. As the Managing Partner at Ligomarc Advocates, he has played a pivotal role in
shaping Uganda’s insolvency law framework, handling high-stakes receiverships, and
advising major corporations, financial institutions, and government agencies. He played a key
role in drafting Uganda’s Insolvency Act (2011) and its regulations.
In commercial and corporate litigation, he has represented multinational corporations and
government entities in high-profile disputes, including the $13 billion Standard Gauge
Railway and $2.2 billion Karuma Hydro Power Project litigations. His financial and
regulatory advisory work includes providing compliance guidance to leading financial
institutions, advising on UAP Insurance Uganda Ltd’s demerger, and consulting for the World
Bank’s Economic and Finance Management Project. In the public sector and governance, he
has served as legal counsel for the National Drug Authority and the Electricity Regulatory
Authority and assisted in implementing Uganda’s Integrated Financial Management System.
Kabiito is a member of INSOL International, the International Bar Association’s Insolvency
Section, the Uganda Law Society, and the East African Law Society. holds a Post Graduate
Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda, as well as a Bachelor
of Laws (LL.B) Hons from Makerere University.
