Martin Kakuru is an accomplished legal professional with over 15 years of experience
in litigation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), employment law, corporate fraud,
and tax litigation. As an Associate Partner , he is known for his strategic and
pragmatic approach to complex legal matters, making him a trusted advisor to
corporations, financial institutions, and government entities.
He has successfully represented clients before Uganda’s High Court, Court of Appeal,
Supreme Court, and specialized tribunals, including the Industrial Court, Tax Appeals
Tribunal, Electricity Tribunal, and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. His expertise in ADR,
encompassing both international and municipal arbitration, has played a pivotal role in
resolving disputes related to infrastructure development, contract management, and
corporate transactions. Martin also excels in mediation and negotiations, ensuring
clients receive effective representation both in and out of court.
Beyond legal practice, Martin is a Senior Lecturer at the Law Development Centre
(LDC), where he has been teaching Civil Litigation, Commercial Transactions, and
Land Transactions since 2013. His dedication to legal education and mentorship has
significantly contributed to shaping future legal practitioners by equipping them with
practical skills and knowledge.
